Posted on January 22, 2024 By admin No Comments on Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC)

Properties:

SDIC is water soluble, it has properties of high effective, instant effective, wide range and safety. SDIC has strong fungicide effect, even at dosage of 20ppm, the fungicide ratio can reach to 99%. It has good stability, can be preserved for half year with less than 1% loss of effective chlorine, and cannot be deteriorated at 120℃, cannot be flamed.

CAS No. 2893-78-9

Molecular formula: (C3Cl2N3O3)Na                      Molecular weight: 219.95

Structural Formula:

Specification:

Items Grade I Grade II
Available chlorine, % 60.0min 56.0min
Moisture, % 3.0max 7.0max
pH (1% solution) 5.5-7.0

Usage:

SDIC can be used as algae disinfector in circulating cool water system and swimming pool. When used in circulating cool water system, the dosage of 15-20ppm every 2-3 days in summer is preferred, in spring and autumn, every 3-5 days and in winter every 5-7 days. For insurance of effects, nonoxidative disinfector may be also added into this product.

Package and Storage:

50kg/drum,customers’ requirement. Storage for one year in shady room and dry place.

Safety Protection:

Stimulation to skin and eye, protected with eye-glass and glove in operation. Once contacted, flush with water.

Protective measures:

Here are some protective measures to consider when handling SDIC:

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing, when handling SDIC to minimize skin and eye contact.
  2. Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation in the working area to prevent the build-up of chlorine gas or vapors. This can be achieved by working in a well-ventilated space or using local exhaust ventilation systems.
  3. Mixing and Dilution: When preparing solutions with it, always add SDIC to water and not vice versa. This helps prevent splashing or release of chlorine gas. Follow the recommended dilution ratios provided by the manufacturer.
  4. Safe Handling: Avoid inhalation of dust or fumes by handling SDIC in a controlled manner. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling SDIC and always wash hands thoroughly after handling.
  5. Storage: Store SDIC in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep containers tightly closed and properly labeled.
  6. Spill Response: In case of a spill, contain the material and clean it up promptly using appropriate absorbent materials. Avoid contact with skin and eyes during cleanup.
  7. Disposal: Dispose of SDIC waste in accordance with local regulations and guidelines. Follow proper disposal procedures to minimize environmental impact.

Remember to consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided by the manufacturer for specific information on safe handling, storage, and disposal of SDIC.
