Types and functions of coating decentralizers

Posted on July 26, 2023 By admin No Comments on Types and functions of coating decentralizers

Coating dispersant is a chemical commonly used in coating manufacturing. It can help uniformly disperse pigments and other solid particles to improve the stability and performance of the coating. According to different uses and chemical components, coating dispersers can be divided into the following types:

Popular ion -type dispersant: This dispersant usually has negative charge, which can be combined with the particle with positive electrical electrical on the surface of the pigment to form a stable dispersion system. They are suitable for scattered inorganic pigments in water -based coatings and oily coatings, such as titanium powder and iron oxide.

Catalized dispersant: This dispersant usually has positive charge and can be adsorbed on the surface of the pigment particles to make it positively charge, thereby achieving the divergent stability of the pigment. They are mainly used in organic pigments in water -based coatings and oily coatings, such as organic pigments, dyes, etc.

Non -ion -type dispersant: This dispersant does not have charge, and the pigment particles are decentralized through the characteristics of the surfactant. They are suitable for various types of pigments, including inorganic pigments and organic pigments. Non -ion decentrals can provide good decentralized effects and wetting performance.

Amine dispersant: amine dispersing agent usually has alkaline characteristics, can neutralize acidic substances on the surface of the pigment, and promote the dispersal stability of the pigment. They are often used for dispersing organic pigments, such as ketone dyes, carbon black.

High molecular dispersant: Polymer dispersant is a polymer with high molecular weight. The pigment particles can be dispersed in the coatings by adsorption and package, thereby improving the stability of the coating. These common types of polymer decentralized agents include polyacrylamide and polyvinyl alcohol.

The main role of coating dispersing agent is to achieve uniform dispersion of pigments, prevent pigment precipitation and reunion, and improve the color uniformity, gloss and service life of the coating. At the same time, the decentralized agent can also improve the liquidity, coating, and adhesion of the coating, and improve the injury and weather resistance of the coating film. For coating manufacturers, the appropriate dispersant selection and use can improve the production efficiency and quality stability of coatings.
