The Synthesis Backbone – Kerui’s Specialty Chlorides and Fatty Amines

Posted on June 25, 2026 By admin No Comments on The Synthesis Backbone – Kerui’s Specialty Chlorides and Fatty Amines

The chemical industry relies on a vast supply chain of specialized intermediates to produce everything from pharmaceuticals to agricultural chemicals. Within this chain, acid chlorides and fatty amines are irreplaceable building blocks. Shandong Kerui Chemicals serves this critical role by manufacturing high-purity intermediates such as Lauroyl Chloride and N-3-Laurylamidopropyl Dimethylamine (PKO12), which are essential for downstream synthesis in multiple sectors.

Lauroyl Chloride is a versatile acylating agent, meaning it is used to introduce a lauroyl group into other molecules . This makes it a key raw material in the synthesis of a wide range of products:

  • Pharmaceuticals and Agrochemicals: It serves as an intermediate for manufacturing various medicinal compounds and pesticides .

  • Surfactants: It is a crucial intermediate for producing specialized surfactants and can be used to make dodecyl peroxide .
Kerui manufactures this product to high purity (≥99.0% content) with a controlled color (APHA ≤30), ensuring high reactivity and minimal impurities for its customers’ synthesis processes .

Another critical intermediate is N-3-Laurylamidopropyl Dimethylamine (PKO12). This specialty amine is a precursor to several important surfactant classes :

  • Betaines: When reacted with chloroacetic acid, it forms betaines used in the oilfield, personal care, and cosmetics industries .

  • Amine Oxides: Reaction with hydrogen peroxide produces amine oxides, which are valuable as foaming agents and surfactants in both oilfield and daily chemical applications .

  • Quaternary Ammonium Salts: It can be quaternized with methyl chloride, dimethyl sulfate, or diethyl sulfate to produce a range of cationic surfactants .

By providing these essential, high-purity intermediates, Kerui Chemical plays a foundational role in enabling the production of advanced chemicals for pharmaceuticals, agriculture, personal care, and oilfield applications, solidifying its position as a full-spectrum chemical manufacturer.
