Acid pickling corrosion inhibitor is a chemical agent widely used in metal surface treatment. Its main function is to reduce the corrosion rate of metal surfaces during the acid pickling process and prevent excessive corrosion. The working principle is as follows:

Corrosion inhibitor forms a protective film: The active components in the acid pickling corrosion inhibitor can react with the metal surface to form a protective film. This thin film can cover the surface of the metal, block the contact between the metal and the pickling solution, reduce the direct reaction between the metal and the pickling solution, and thus reduce the corrosion rate.

Control the acidity in the solution: Pickling corrosion inhibitors can adjust the acidity of the pickling solution to maintain it within an appropriate range. Excessive acidity can increase the corrosion rate of the pickling solution on metals, while low acidity may lead to poor pickling effect. Corrosion inhibitors can stabilize the pH value of the pickling solution, ensuring that corrosion on the metal surface is controlled during the pickling process.

Inhibition of electrochemical reactions: During the pickling process, corrosion of metal surfaces often involves electrochemical reactions. Corrosion inhibitors can inhibit or slow down the progress of electrochemical reactions by altering the electrochemical characteristics of metal surfaces, thereby reducing the corrosion rate of metals.

It should be noted that the specific composition and mechanism of action of acid pickling corrosion inhibitors may vary depending on different application scenarios. In practical use, suitable acid pickling corrosion inhibitors should be selected based on specific material and process requirements, and relevant operating instructions and safety regulations should be followed.
