The usage and dosage of flocculant agent

Posted on August 1, 2023 By admin No Comments on The usage and dosage of flocculant agent

Fundamental is a chemical agent for water treatment and wastewater treatment. It is mainly used to remove suspended solid particles and turbid matter, making the water clear and transparent. The following is the general guidance of the usage and amount of flocculant:

Determine the proper flocculant type: According to the characteristics of the water to be treated and the required treatment effect, choose the type of flocculant. Common flocculants include inorganic flocculants (such as polymer aluminum chloride, polymer iron sulfate, etc.) and organic flocculation coagulation Dose (such as polyacrylamide, etc.).

Determine the appropriate investment point: According to the design and operation requirements of the water treatment system, determine the plus point of the flocculant. Generally, it is common to add flocculants to mixed ponds or sedimentation pools in the water treatment process.

Determine the appropriate time and additional time: the time of the flocculant depends on the system’s water quality and the required flocculation effect. Under normal circumstances, the flocculant will be added before the water flow passes through the mixed or sedimentation tank to ensure full mixing and reaction.

Determine the appropriate amount: The amount of the flocculant will change according to the characteristics of the water treatment and the required treatment effect. Generally speaking, the determination of dosage needs to be tested by the laboratory or adjusted according to experience. It should be noted to avoid excessive flocculant, so as not to cause excessive flocculation and waste.

Mixing and precipitating: Once the flocculant is added to the water, the suspended solid particles can form a large flocculant, and the suspended solid particles are formed by the appropriate mixing and static time, and the bottom is precipitated. The precipitated water can be removed from the upper part.

It should be noted that the specific use of flocculants and dosage will be affected by different systems and different water quality, so it should be adjusted and optimized according to the actual situation. When using a flocculant, please strictly follow the relevant safety operating procedures and ensure suitable storage and treatment measures.
