Deoxidizers and antioxidants are chemicals used in different fields, and their functions and applications vary. Here are their differences:

Definition and role:

Deoxidizer: Deoxidizer is a chemical substance used to remove or reduce the oxygen content in the environment. It can reduce the oxygen concentration in the environment through adsorption, chemical reactions, or physical methods, thereby preventing oxygen from corroding, oxidizing, or damaging specific materials, equipment, or processes.

Antioxidant: Antioxidant is a chemical substance mainly used to prevent or slow down the oxidation of substances by oxygen. It can capture free radicals and delay oxidation reactions, thereby protecting substances such as food, cosmetics, rubber, plastics, etc. from the effects of oxidation and aging.

Application field:

Deoxidizers: Deoxidizers are mainly used in industrial fields, such as in electronic manufacturing, metal processing, food storage, petrochemical and other processes, to reduce oxygen concentration and prevent corrosion, oxidation, or explosion problems.

Antioxidants: Antioxidants are widely used in the food industry, cosmetics industry, rubber industry, plastic industry, and other fields. They can be used for food preservation, preventing cosmetics from oxidation, and extending the service life of rubber and plastic products.

Principle:

Deoxidizer: Deoxidizer interacts with oxygen through adsorption, chemical reaction, or physical methods to reduce the oxygen content in the environment. For example, some deoxidizers can release chemicals that react with oxygen to form oxides or solid substances, thereby achieving the effect of deoxygenation.

Antioxidants: Antioxidants can capture free radicals and slow down or prevent oxidation reactions. They can provide electrons, capture free radicals, or prevent the oxidation of substances by oxygen through other mechanisms.

In short, deoxidizers are mainly used to remove or reduce the oxygen content in the environment to prevent corrosion, oxidation, or damage; Antioxidants are mainly used to prevent or slow down the oxidative effects caused by oxygen, in order to protect substances from the effects of oxidation and aging.
