Tetradecyl dimethyl amine oxide (OA-14), also known as myristamine oxide, is an amphoteric surfactant with a C14 alkyl chain. Its applications are primarily in personal care and cleaning products, where it functions as a foam booster, viscosity modifier, and mild cleansing agent.

Personal Care Applications
OA-14 is widely used in personal care formulations for its mildness and ability to improve product texture and performance.

Hair Care: Used in shampoos and conditioners to improve hair manageability, reduce static, and add conditioning effects without leaving residue.

Skin Care & Bath Products: Found in body washes, hand soaps, bubble baths, and facial cleansers, where it provides gentle cleansing and stable, creamy foam.

Formulation Benefits: It acts as a viscosity builder, allowing for high-viscosity formulations, and helps reduce the irritation potential of other surfactants in the product.

Cleaning Product Applications
In household and industrial cleaning, OA-14 is valued for its stability and effectiveness in various formulations.

Hard Surface Cleaners: Used in kitchen, bathroom, and other hard surface cleaning products for its grease-cutting ability and foam stability.

Dishwashing Detergents: A key ingredient in hand dishwashing liquids, where it boosts foam and improves cleaning performance against grease.

Bleach & Acid Cleaners: It is stable in both acidic and alkaline formulations, including those containing sodium hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide, making it suitable for a wide range of cleaning products.

Textile Industry: Used as a softening agent and antistatic agent in textile processing.

Oilfield Chemicals: Applied as a component in oil displacement agents and drilling fluid additives.
