When Iron in Your Cooling Water Threatens Scale Control, AEEA Phosphonate Delivers

Posted on October 16, 2026 By admin No Comments on When Iron in Your Cooling Water Threatens Scale Control, AEEA Phosphonate Delivers

The presence of dissolved iron is one of the most common causes of scale inhibitor failure in industrial cooling water and boiler systems. Iron ions complex with conventional phosphonates, precipitating the inhibitor out of solution and leaving heat transfer surfaces unprotected. AEEA Phosphonate is specifically designed to overcome this limitation.

With superior iron tolerance compared to BHMTPA and other conventional phosphonates, AEEA Phosphonate maintains active concentration in solution even when Fe²⁺ levels exceed 500 ppm. In boiler water systems, this translates to reliable scale inhibition at temperatures up to 200°C — conditions under which many phosphonates degrade or precipitate.

AEEA Phosphonate is equally effective in cooling water systems, where it inhibits calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate deposition on heat exchanger surfaces. Its compatibility with biocides, dispersants, and corrosion inhibitors allows it to be formulated into comprehensive treatment programs without antagonistic interactions.

Shandong Kairui Chemistry Co., Ltd. supplies AEEA Phosphonate from its ISO-certified production facility in Zaozhuang, Shandong. Backed by a 280,000-ton annual capacity and decades of water treatment expertise, Kairui provides technical support, formulation guidance, and reliable logistics for customers worldwide.
