Biodegradable Chelant PASP: Writing “Green” Into the Formula

Posted on October 8, 2026October 8, 2026 By admin No Comments on Biodegradable Chelant PASP: Writing “Green” Into the Formula
Polyaspartic Acid (PASP) is a biodegradable polymer inspired by natural proteins. As a chelant and scale inhibitor it is both mild and eco-friendly. It forms stable complexes with metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper to prevent scale formation, while degrading naturally in the environment without long-term accumulation — an ideal substitute for some traditional chelants.

In recirculating cooling water, boiler water, oilfield injection, and cleaner formulations, PASP (Polyaspartic Acid) can be compounded with PESA (Polyepoxysuccinic Acid) to build a fully phosphorus-free scale-inhibition and dispersion system. For brands built on a sustainability image, putting PASP into the product solution is not just a technical upgrade — it also signals a responsible environmental attitude to customers.
