EDTMPS (Ethylene Diamine Tetra (Methylene Phosphonic Acid) Sodium Salt) in the printing and dyeing industry is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Water softening and scale inhibition

In the printing and dyeing process, the hardness of water has an important effect on the adsorption of dyes and color fastness. Calcium, magnesium and other hardness ions contained in water can easily react with dyes to form scale or affect the adsorption performance of dyes.EDTMPS, as a strong scale inhibitor, can effectively chelate calcium and magnesium ions in water to prevent the formation of scale, so as to maintain the stability of the water quality, ensure the uniform adsorption of dyes and enhance the dyeing effect.

2. Improve the color fastness of dyestuff

As EDTMPS can form stable complexes with metal ions (such as iron, copper, etc.) in water, it can inhibit the interference of metal ions with dye molecules. Metal ions tend to affect the binding power and firmness of dyes, thus lowering the quality of dyeing. by reducing the activity of these metal ions, EDTMPS helps to improve the color fastness of dyes, especially during the washing process after dyeing, and effectively prevents the color difference from occurring.

3. Preventing textile stains during the dyeing process

During the dyeing process, metal ions and other impurities may cause stains or color spots on textiles. the use of EDTMPS helps to remove or inhibit these impurities, preventing them from contaminating the surface of textiles, and ensuring even dyeing and vivid colors.

4. Reducing dye precipitation and contamination

In the dye solution, EDTMPS can effectively prevent the precipitation and accumulation of dye components and avoid solid impurities in the dye solution from affecting the dyeing uniformity. By reacting with the hardness ions in the water to form a stabilizing complex, it reduces the precipitation phenomenon of dyestuffs, which makes the dyeing smoother and reduces the stains that may appear during the dyeing process.

5. Improve the service life of dyeing equipment

When the hardness of water is high, scale is easy to accumulate inside the dyeing equipment, which affects the performance and service life of the equipment. the scale inhibiting effect of EDTMPS not only improves the dyeing effect, but also helps to protect the equipment, prolongs its service life, and reduces the maintenance costs.

6. Improvement of environmental protection in the dyeing process

As EDTMPS can effectively control water hardness and reduce the adverse reactions caused by metal ions during the dyeing process, it can help reduce the waste of dyes and chemicals as well as reduce the pollution to the environment. This environmentally friendly characteristic makes EDTMPS become more and more important in modern dyeing and printing process.
