What are the main components of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors

Posted on August 25, 2023 By admin No Comments on What are the main components of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors

The specific components of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors can vary depending on the product and manufacturer, but generally include the following main components:

Corrosion inhibitors: Reverse osmosis scale inhibitors typically contain corrosion inhibitors, such as organic phosphates or amine compounds. Corrosion inhibitors can form a protective film on the surface of the film, reducing the corrosion of metal ions and the formation of scale layers.

Coordination agent: A coordination agent is a chemical substance that can undergo complex reactions with metal ions such as calcium and magnesium in water. By combining with metal ions, coordination agents can prevent their deposition and crystallization, thereby reducing the formation of scale layers.

Dispersant: Dispersant has the function of dispersing and stabilizing suspended particles, which can prevent particle aggregation and sedimentation. In reverse osmosis systems, dispersants can disperse the particles formed by the scale layer in water, avoiding blockage and increased resistance to the membrane.

Buffer: Buffer can adjust the pH value of water to maintain it within a suitable range. By controlling the acidity and alkalinity of water, buffering agents can reduce the tendency of scale formation and increase the service life of the membrane.

Interface active agent: Interface active agent helps to reduce the surface tension of liquid, promoting the contact and dispersion of scale inhibitors with dirt and scale layers in water. They can improve the diffusion performance of scale inhibitors and improve cleaning efficiency.

It should be noted that the specific selection of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors and their components should be determined based on factors such as water quality composition, RO system design parameters, and operating conditions. In practical applications, operations should be carried out in accordance with the guidance and usage methods provided by the manufacturer to ensure safety and the best scale inhibition effect.
